T. Paul Pickens

  Thomas “Paul” Pickens, 86, of Murrayville, Georgia, died Saturday, May 27, 2017, in Donnell House, following a brief illness.   He was born March 26, 1931, in Washington, a son of the late Forest Edward Pickens and Pearl Zediker Pickens.   Mr. Pickens was a 1949 graduate of Trinity High School.  He worked as a transportation agent for TWA and as a plant manager for Taylor Concrete.   Mr. Pickens loved the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins, as well as the Atlanta Braves, and enjoyed watching wrestling on television.   He was Methodist by faith.   On February 6, 1949, he married Clara May Ward, who died October 24, 1961.   On November 1, 1962, he married Shirley Marie Gordon, who survives.   Also surviving are two sons, Thom Pickens of Jacksonville, Florida and Bill (Cindy) Pickens of Titusville, Florida; two daughters, Kathy (Dan) Morris of Washington and Shelley (Jimmy) Cauley of Murrayville, Georgia; 12 grandchildren, Stephanie Orr, Megan Dierickx, Jennifer Guske, Mara Vann, Billy Pickens, Shaun Anthony, Amber Pickens, Holly Rider, Lori Cowden, Amy Cerino, Keri Mowrer and James Paul Cauley; 31 great-grandchildren; and a very close sister-in-law, Janice Pinkney.   Deceased are a brother, Harry Pickens, and a great-grandchild.   Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 31st, with Pastor Andrew Miller officiating.  Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.   Memorial contributions may be made to Donnell House, Concordia Hospice of Washington, 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301.
