Robert N. Ketzell

Robert N. Ketzell, 76, of Washington, died on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 in the Washington Hospital. He was born on July 16, 1946, the son of the late Presley N. and Gretta M. Rosengreen Ketzell. Bob was an active and faithful member of Washington Alliance Church, where he proudly served as a deacon. He was a graduate of Washington High School. After serving his community for many years, he retired from the City of Washington as a 911 dispatcher. Bob loved ham radio. He spent his free time on ham radio under the call sign KB3IN. He was always willing to provide training and an active member of the local club. On June 9, 1986 he married Nora Liew, who survives. They were blessed to share 36 years of marriage together. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by four sons, Daniel Ketzell, Din Zakaria (Nancy Koh-Zakaria), John Zakaria (Julie), and Zaidi Zakaria (Lynne) and seven grandchildren, Daniel, Derek, Alyssa, Joshua, Sarah, Xavier, and Julius Zakaria. Family and friends are welcome on Sunday, January 29, 2023 from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at 3:00 PM in Washington Alliance Church, 246 Sanitarium Road, Washington with Pastor Brian Greenleaf officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Washington Alliance Church, 246 Sanitarium Road, Washington, PA 15301.
