Mary Ellen Ward

Mary Ward, beloved GiGi, of Bentleyville, passed away October 22, 2022, from a lengthy illness, in Mon Valley Hospital. She was 92 years old. Mary was born December 17, 1929, in West Middletown, the daughter and one of nine children of the late William and Iva King. On May 8, 1954, Mary married her late husband, George Allison Ward. She is survived by a stepson, George Paul (Linda) Ward, of Washington; sons, Allison Jay (Jody) Ward, of Bentleyville, James Nathan (Chris) Ward, of North Carolina; daughter, Mary (Joe) Kubacki, of Washington; seventeen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wilma King, of Washington. She shared her home with a grandson, two great-grandchildren, and her dog Chompers. She will be deeply missed by her great-grandchildren who called her GiGi. Mary loved going camping and did so up to her 92nd year. She enjoyed sitting by the fire with her family. She was an avid animal lover, so in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s name to Washington County Humane Society, 1527 PA-136, Eighty-Four, PA 15330. Friends and family will gather Wednesday, October 26, 2022, 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, the place of service Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 10am. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
