Marilyn "Lynn" Cosgrove, (AKA: Sister Kenneth, Sister Lynn, Miss Cosgrove, Miss "C", Ms. Lynn, "Lady Lynn," and on rare occasions by some of her male students as, "Kamikaze"), age 80 of Washington, went to her eternal rest on Monday, October 29, 2018 at home, She was born May 2, 1938 in Charleroi, PA. (Lock 4), the daughter of the late Mary Louise Faulx of Lock 4, and Thomas L. Cosgrove of Rices Landing, Pa. Lynn attended high school at Mount Assisi Academy in Pittsburgh and became a member of the School Sisters of St. Francis in 1955. In 1966 she left the religious community to care for her injured brother, Thomas and remained an Associate Member of the community until her death. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church and an honorary member of the Society of Our Lady of Guadalupe of St. Mark Church in San Antonio, Texas. A teacher for 50 years, she was devoted to the students she taught both on the elementary and secondary levels. Lynn enjoyed the beauty of nature and spending time with family and friends. Surviving are a sister Karen C Williams of Washington, a niece Korey (Matt) Deyell; a nephew Thomas (TR) Williams IV; great nieces and nephew Keira, Emma, and Konnor; and her extended family at Mt. Assisi Convent. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Thomas, and infant Michael, as well as a baby sister, Mary Lou. Friends will be received Friday, November 2, 2018 from 4 to 8 P.M. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave. Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. A Memorial Liturgy will also be celebrated at Mt Assisi Convent, 934 Forest Avenue, Pittsburgh on Saturday, November 10, at 9:00 A.M.
