James Craig “Jim” Roberts, 60, of Prosperity, died unexpectedly on September 27, 2021. He was born April 1, 1961, in Washington, a son of Charles and Dolores Stimmel Roberts of Washington. A 1979 graduate of McGuffey High School, Mr. Roberts worked at Ross Mould for 34 years. During his employment, he was the president of Local Union USW146T for many years. Following his retirement in 2017, he earned a certification in HVAC from Penn Commercial and was currently self-employed. Mr. Roberts was a member of Upper Ten Mile Presbyterian Church, where he had served as an elder and Sunday School teacher. A dedicated husband and father, he loved the outdoors and hiking, camping and RVing with his family. On December 9, 1989, he married Denise Garner, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Alex Roberts and Rachel Roberts, both of Prosperity; a brother, Steven (Tammie) Roberts of Washington; a sister, Susan (Ed) Westcott of Washington; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. till 1:30 p.m., the time of service, Friday, October 1st, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Dave Mason officiating. Private interment will be held in Prosperity Cemetery.
