Karen Lee Schultz McKean, 57, of Washington, died Wednesday, September 30, 2009, in her residence.
She was born October 2, 1951, in Monongahela, a daughter of Bernadette Haley Schultz and the late James H. Schultz.
Mrs. McKean graduated from Washington Hospital School of Nursing and received a Masters Degree from Wheeling Jesuit College.
She worked at Washington Hospital for thirty-eight years and currently was a Nurse Manager in the Medical Surgical Unit at the hospital.
She was known at the hospital for her kindness, compassion, and especially her friendly smile.
Mrs. McKean enjoyed playing boggle, watching softball games, spending time with family and watching the Steelers.
She was a member of Transfiguration Church in Monongahela.
On May 12, 1979, she married Kevin E. McKean, who survives.
Also surviving are her son, Dr. Jason M. McKean, and her daughter, Dr. Jaime L. McKean, both of Washington.
Deceased are two brothers, James H. Schultz and Dr. Mark Schultz.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where a Blessing Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 5, 2009, with Father William Feeney officiating. Burial will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
