Robert Scott McCartney, 40, of Washington, died unexpectedly Saturday, January 24, 2009.
He was born July 8, 1968, in Washington, a son of Wayne E. McCartney and Carolyn Bird McCartney, both of Washington.
Mr. McCartney attended Trinity High School and worked as a cook at the 7/11 Diner in Eighty-Four.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, played guitar in various local bands, and enjoyed traveling and playing bingo.
On April 1, 1988, he married Sandra Lee Ealy, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Robert Scott McCartney Jr. of Washington; a daughter, Amanda Nutcher of McMurray; two brothers, Wayne McCartney Jr. of Glassport and Michael W. McCartney of Washington; one sister, Renee (Charlie) Henderson of Taylorstown; his step-mother, Annie Landock McCartney of Washington; a step-brother, Joe Landock; a step-sister, Jodi Landock; grandmothers, Dixie Kelley and Betty J. Bird, both of Washington; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nepehws.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 28th, with Pastor Edward Kelley Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in North Buffalo Cemetery.
