Sarah Riggle

Sarah “Veva” Riggle, 75, of Washington, died Wednesday, August 26, 2009, in The Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness. She was born September 18, 1933, in Inez, Kentucky, a daughter of John B. and Mary Lou Alta McGinnis Fraley. Mrs. Riggle had been a waitress at Kozy Cottage and had also worked at B.K. Video, SDRR Design and Albert’s Packing Co. She was a devoted mother who enjoyed being with family, sewing, cooking, baking, and crafts. On April 30, 1960, she married Dale Franklin Riggle, who died March 10, 2006. Surviving are a son, Frank Riggle of Washington; three daughters, Sandra Dale Riggle-Reedy, Debby Jane Hanes, and Becky Sue Riggle; a step-daughter, Nancy Jo Spence, all of Washington; three brothers, Doug Fraley, Ray Fraley and Wally Fraley, all of Washington; four sisters, Elsie Ozarowski, LaVerne Hampe and Sue Maloy, all of Washington, and Ina Boyle of Claysville; five grandchildren, Russell Clee Hanes, Frederick “Wayne” Reedy, Brennen Patrick Reedy, Sarah Kylie Riggle and Christina Marie Pratt; three step-grandchildren, Michael A. Magnetta, Shelly Ruth Hutchison and Charles “Bo” Earlywine; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Reedy and Dakota Reedy; and several step-great grandchildren. Deceased are a stepdaughter, Linda Riggle-Earlywine; three brothers, Roy, Ray and Meryle Fraley; a sister, Bertha Carroll; and two sons-in-law, Frederick Earl Reedy and Ralph Clee Hanes. Friends will be received Sunday, August 30th, from 1 till 3 and 5 till 7 p.m., the hour of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Rev. Steve Dunlap officiating. Private inurnment in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be held at a later date.
