Laura B. Hatfield, 101, of Washington, died at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2007, in her home. She had been ill since January 2007.
She was born February 10,1906, in Buffalo Township,a daughter of Harry Edward and Kizzie Ann Kelley Dinch.
Mrs. Hatfield graduated from Hopewell Township High School in 1922 and earned her teaching degree from Washington and Jefferson College in 1926.
Mrs. Hatfield was a member of First Christian Church and enjoyed gardening and playing the piano.
She worked as a cashier at Washington City Mission for thirty-four years.
On September 20, 1926, she married Early Braden Hatfield, who died May 16, 1963.
Surviving are a daughter, Loretta (Robert) Staley, of Washington; four grandchildren, Kenneth B. Hatfield, Dr. Cynthia Hatfield, Judith Horne, and Katherine Wise; and seventeen great grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Dr. Kenneth B. Hatfield, two sisters, Elizabeth Haskell and Rebecca Durila; two brothers, Edward and Russell Dinch.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2007, with Rev. Dr. David Felty officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery.
