Louis Derose

Washington resident served in World War II. Louis DeRose, 78, of Washington, died at 1:50 p.m. Monday September 18, 2006, in Donnell House, Washington, following a two-year illness. He was born February 20, 1928, in Washington, a son of Frank and Teresa Acquaro DeRose. Mr. DeRose attended Washington High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After being honorably discharged in 1949, he served in the Naval Reserves until November 1953. He was a machinist at McGraw-Edison Transformer/Cooper Industries in Canonsburg. He enjoyed golf. On October 28, 1950, he married Evelyn June Gregg, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Daniel (Christy) DeRose of Houma, La.; a daughter, Jill (Phil) Romano of Washington; two sisters, Rose Pizzi of Ohio and Mary Hart of Dunedin, Fla.; three grandchildren, Dominick DeRose, Tina (David) Kay and Sarah DeRose; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be private and at the convienence of the family, with burial in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Memorial donations may be made to Donnell House, c/o Hospice Care, Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
