Norma Jean Allen, 84, of Washington, died Tuesday, September 30, 2014, in Donnell House. She was born December 2, 1929, in Washington, a daughter of the late Harry and Virginia Hayes Bebout. Mrs. Allen attended Washington High School. She was a homemaker and at one time had worked at Hazel Atlas #2 and the George Washington Hotel. Mrs. Allen was a member of L.O.O.M. 22, TOPS of Canonsburg and the Auxiliary of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and friends. On December 29, 1964, she married Clarence Edward Allen, who died November 2, 1996. Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Holmes of Canonsburg and Virginia Briggs (David Bakaitis) of Washington; a brother, Charles Richard Bebout of Alaska; a sister, Shirley Steele of Washington; six grandchildren, Eddie Holmes, Sheila Watson, Ronald Holmes, Charles Henry Yater, Jr., Rhonda Reese and Tracy Kisner; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Deceased are a brother, James E. Bebout, and a sister, Charlotte Reese. Friends will be received Thursday from 1 till 6 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Ernie Ross officiating.
