Luke Robert Liggett, 17, of Hickory, died unexpectedly in his home on Saturday, September 27, 2014.
He was born June 2, 1997, in Washington, the son of Donald B. Liggett and Kelly Crowley Liggett.
Luke was a member of Glenn Street Free Methodist Church, where he was also a member of the Youth Group.
He was a senior at Agora Cyber Charter High School.
Luke played for Fort Cherry Youth Baseball and Football and enjoyed working at McDonald’s, fishing, driving and umpiring for youth baseball.
He enjoyed spending time with his best friend, his dog “Bentley”.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother, Brent Aaron Liggett of Pittsburgh; a sister, Amanda (Michael) Frank of Hickory; maternal grandfather, Robert Crowley Sr. of Hickory.
Deceased are his grandparents, Elmer and Suzanne Liggett and Florence Crowley.
Friends will be received Wednesday, October 1, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd. 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Thursday, October 2, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Randy Stateler and Robert Neal will be officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Prospect Cemetery.
