Joan Marasco

Joan Marasco, 87, of Washington, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014, in Presbyterian Senior Care. She was born August 1, 1927, in Houston, a daughter of John and Lucy Spin Pallette. Mrs. Marasco graduated from Chartiers Houston High School in 1945. She was a homemaker and helped care for ill people. Mrs. Marasco was a member of Friendship Community Church, where she was involved with the prayer group and was a Sunday School officer. On July 14, 1946, she married Rev. Floyd C. Marasco, Sr., who survives. Also surviving are a son, Floyd C. Marasco, Jr., of Claysville; three daughters, Christine (Everett) Sechler of Confluence, Paulette J. (Gary) Stout of Washington, and Amy Jo (James) Simpson of Murraysville; a sister, Marion Russo of Lawrence; six grandchildren, Joel and Joshua Sechler, Timothy and Stephen Simpson, Debbie Jo Macre and Angela (James) Callam; and a great-granddaughter, Clara Sechler. Deceased are a daughter, Rebecca Angeline Marasco; three sisters, Theresa Pallette, Thelma Cancilla and Rose Cancilla; and four brothers, Frank, Joe, Benny and Anthony Pallette. Friends will be received Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m., and Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 23rd, with Pastor Terry Ardeno officiating.
