Robert Edward Ritter, 85 of Eighty Four, died at 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in his home.
He was born March 20, 1929, in Washington, the son of Edward and Cinderella Kimberland Ritter.
He was a member of Emmanuel United Presbyterian Church (formerly Pigeon Creek United Presbyterian Church.) He joined Emmanuel Church in 1946. He was trustee in 1956 to 1960 and an elder in 1980 and 1990 for several years.
Mr. Ritter was employed at CSX Railroad formerly the B & O for 40 years. He retired in May 1990.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was part of the 101st Airborne stationed in Germany from March 1951 to March 1953.
He was a manger and coach for Eighty Four Boys Baseball for 15 years.
On August 1, 1954, he married Hazel Elizabeth Anders, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Denise (Don) Ward, Janice (Richard) Stiles, Amy Lou (Jim) Chester; three sons, Robert (Karen) Ritter, Linton (Lori) Ritter and Todd (Jennifer) Ritter; 11 grandchildren, Courtney (Justin) Crowe, Travis (Ashley) Ward, Kaisi, Tara, Samantha, Halley Ritter, Leah and Megan Ritter, Holly, Heidi and Heather Chester; three great grandchildren, Logan and Madison Crowe, Wyatt Ward; a brother Harold (Dale) Ritter and several brothers and sisters in law; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a daughter Brenda Lee Ritter who died May 18, 1977.
Friends will be received 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014 at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday. May 17th at Emmanuel United Presbyterian Church, 480 Rte 519, Eighty Four, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Emmanuel Cemetery.
