Eugene Ostrander

Eugene Ostrander, 65 of Washington, died Friday, July 12, 2013, in his home, following a two-year illness. His was born, August 15, 1947, the son of William Ostrander and Martha Charney Ostrander, who are deceased. Eugene graduated from Washington High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Navy as a radio operator. Mr. Ostrander was a night supervisor for U.S. Postal Service in Washington. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and playing cards with his siblings. He loved his dog “Spike”. On July 13, 1968, he married Belinda E. “Boots” Riethmiller who died July 3, 2005. Surviving are three daughters, Janell Lynn Ostrander, Melanie Rae Ostrander and Ashley Marie Ostrander all of Washington; two brothers, Kenneth Ostrander of Mesa, Arizona and Ray Ostrander of Lake Station, Indiana; six sisters, Dorothy Weaver of Levittown, PA, Barbara Ward of Melbourne Beach, FL, Mary Jane Wheeler of Lake Station, IN, Laverna Drabeck of Washington, Martha Baker of Hyattsville, MD, Darlene Dicks of Claysville; a niece, Bridgett Riethmiller of Monongahela. Deceased are tow brothers, Albert and Donald Ostrander. Friends will be received Monday, July 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 E. Maiden Street, Washington where services will be held Tuesday, July 16 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Kenneth Schott officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
