Frances Theresa Blyth, 63, of Washington, died Sunday, August 19, 2012, in her residence. She had been courageously battling breast cancer since April 2009. She was born May 12, 1949, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late Stephen J. and Frances T. Grebiner Doby. A graduate of St. Augustine High School, Mrs. Blyth worked as a clerk-typist for the PA Department of Labor and Industry for 20+ years and also for the late Dr. Joseph McMahan. She was involved with Girl Scouts and served on the Catholic Committee on Scouting. Mrs. Blyth loved animals and enjoyed computer games and spending time with her family. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Women’s Auxiliary of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175, and AFSCME 13. On February 22, 1975, she married James Roger Blyth, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Amy Mara Blyth Whipkey (David) of North Strabane and Elena Marie Blyth of Washington; and her dog and loving companion, Quincy. Deceased is a very close uncle, Philip M. Grebiner. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, August 24th, in Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Capuchin Friars of Province of St. Augustine, 220 37th Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201.
