Virginia P. Hull Schutte, 93, of Washington, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 15, 2012. She died in her home after a long battle with cancer.
She was born September 25, 1918, in Elm Grove, West Virginia, a daughter of Manuel and Pearl Richmond Hull. She was the oldest of eight children.
Mrs. Schutte was a graduate of West Liberty High School in West Virginia.
She retired after 35 years from the Annex Pharmacy in Washington.
In the last few years she enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren. They were the joy of her life. She loved playing checkers with them and taking them shopping. She also enjoyed studying and reading her Bible.
On June 4, 1939, she married John Luther Schutte, in Bridgeport, Ohio, who survives. They were married 72 years.
Surviving are a daughter, Karen Schutte Hunter (Edward), of Washington;two grandchildren, Edward Eric Hunter (Lynn) and Stacey Mechele Willis (Ron), of Centreville, VA., four great-grandchildren, Brendan and Zachary Willis and John Edward and Katherine Elizabeth Hunter, all of Centreville, VA., three siblings, Romona Stewart (Everett), of Wisconsin, Guy Arthur Hull (Betty) and Raymond Hull (Barbara), both of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister, Madeline, and three brothers, John, Robert and Manuel, Jr.
Visitation and the committal service were private and held at the convenience of the family. She was laid to rest in Washington Cemetery. Services were officiated by the nephew of Mrs. Schutte, Pastor Tim Hull, of Cornerstone Community Church, in Dalton, Ohio. In lieu of flowers t
he family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice Care of the Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301. Arrangements were by William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
