Joseph Patsy “Sonny” Manfredi, 70, of Washington, died Wednesday, January 12, 2011, in the Washington Hospital.
He was born January 15, 1940, in Washington, a son of Joseph and Betty Grimm Manfredi.
Mr. Manfredi worked for 26 years at Jessop Steel where he was an inventory clerk in the specialties department.
He had a green thumb and loved gardening and roses. He loved animals and enjoyed NASCAR and the Steelers.
Mr. Manfredi was an antique car enthusiast and a member of the Buick Owners Club of America, for which he served as a national judge. An assistant manager of the Jessop Softball team, he was a member of American Softball Association and served as its District 7 commissioner for 10 years (1976-1986), for which he received many awards.
On September 30, 1995, he married Georgia Hauer, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Michele (John) Cerciello of Washington and Danielle (Eric) Diehl of Pittsburgh; and five grandchildren, Emily, Noah, Lindsey, Cameron and Maddison.
His former wife, Mary Livolsi Boroch of Houston, also survives.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, January 14th. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
