Zelma Gene Armstrong, 79, of Washington, died July 30, 2023, in Premier Washington Health Center. She was born September 18, 1943, in Dallas, West Virginia, the daughter of Russell and Dessie Curry Elliott. Zelma worked for Brockway Glass in the box shop for thirteen years and was a bartender at Moose Lodge 22 for eighteen years. She was member of the Moose Lodge 22 for twenty-five years, a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, a lifetime member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Polish Club, the Pulaski Club, and enjoyed many, many friends that became family at the Slovak Club. On June 22, 2006, Zelma married Duane Clark Armstrong, who died February 1, 2010. Surviving is her daughter, Cynthia Phillips; grandchildren, Jeremy Stillwagon, Jordan Stillwagon, and Reba Gene (Shane) Glassman; great-grandchildren, Alexis Rose Glassman, Blake Matthew Dean, Raina Marie Dean, and Noah James Dean; sisters, Dennie Black and Shirley (Ralph) Ealy; and several nieces and nephews. Zelma was preceded in death by her sisters, Katherine Clark, Dorothy Penrode Meeks, and Eliza Janoski; and a brother, Russell (Ruth) Elliott.
