William “Bill” R. Scott, 79, of Washington, PA, passed away on April 24, 2024, at home surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born on August 22, 1944. Bill was a kind, steady-handed, and infinitely patient man. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of sixty years Sharon Scott (McDowell), his children Cynthia Desmond (Samuel), Todd Scott (Kelly), Shelly Janovich (Eric); his grandchildren Marjorie Florian (Cliff), Amanda Phillips (Mark), Matthew Cass (Mikelene), Joseph Desmond (Tracy), Frank Cass (Amanda), Zack Scott, Mason Janovich, Luke Scott, Ethan Janovich, Sydney Janovich, and his seventeen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Don Scott (Carol), Gary Scott (Melody), Kathy McAnallen (Bob), as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Jean Scott, Father Donald Scott, and sibling Randy (Rang) Scott. Bill graduated from McGuffey High School and went on to have a successful career at Penn Mold, retiring after twenty-six years. He was an outdoorsman, enjoyed golfing, and was a jack-of-all trades. He spent much of his free time wrangling grandchildren, traveling with his wife, and getting into a little mischief when possible. Visitation services will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday April 30, 2024 and 11a.m Wednesday May 1 at the William G. Neal Funeral Home in Washington, PA to honor and celebrate Bill’s life. Bill will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace.
