William “Bill” Marvin Newman, Jr., 50, of Washington, died unexpectedly on May 15, 2021. He was born on July 31, 1970, in Washington, a son of William (Ruth Roney) Marvin Newman, Sr., of Avella, and Trudy Phillips (Lou) Mazza, of McMurray. A graduate of Avella High School, Bill worked as a steamfitter for S&S Mechanical. Bill enjoyed camping, and spending time outdoors with friends and family. He loved living in the country, working on his property, and riding his quad all over. A practical joker, Bill was always making people laugh. But more than anything, Bill adored his wife, Kelly. On April 17, 1998, he married the love of his life, Kelly May McElhaney, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Zachary Staley, Sr., of Washington, Shane Newman, of Washington, and Cory Newman, of Washington; two daughters, Shantel (Roger, Sr.) Gubanish, of Strabane, and Bethany Welch, of Washington; two brothers, Scott (Cori) Newman, of Washington, and Ryan (Nikki) Newman, of Avella; a sister, Paula (John) Scarfo, of Eighty-Four; three grandchildren, Roger Gubanish, Jr., Zachary Staley, Jr., and Owen Gubanish; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased is a stepfather, Charlie Williams. Friends will be received on Sunday, May 23, 2021, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2021, with Pastor Paul Drewer officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
