William "Bill" Richardson

August 26, 1930 — January 25, 2024

William R. “Bill” Richardson, 93, of Washington, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born August 26, 1930, in Tarentum, a son of the late Elsie Richardson Craig and Arthur Richardson. In 1949, in St. Hilary Church, he married Eileen Flinn, who passed away February 15, 2022. Bill worked for many years at TriState Engineering in Washington, until it closed. He then worked at SKC, Inc., in Eighty Four, where he designed and built equipment to automate their production line. He retired at the age of 82. Bill loved fishing and hunting and enjoyed the Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers. He also loved birdwatching and always had plenty of handcrafted bird feeders and houses, both at home and at Hawthorne Woods where he resided most recently. Bill started a new hobby in his later years, making pens on his lathe in the garage. He generously shared them with all of the special people he met, giving away hundreds of them. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Bill shared all of his talents and hobbies with his daughters and grandchildren, and all have very special memories of the time spent with him. He is survived by two daughters, Eileen Churchel and husband Rich, and Barbara McCullough and husband Terry; three grandchildren, Nathan Churchel and wife Connie, Melissa Slodowick and husband Jeremy, and Emily Toohey and husband Sean; four great-grandchildren, William Toohey, Nora Toohey, Dejanira O’Korn and Giovanni Bartolotto; and one great-great grandson, Zayden Harmon. Deceased, in addition to his wife and parents, are two brothers, Emil and Warren Richardson. The family would like to thank the employees of Gateway Hospice, especially our angels, Pam and Meighan, and the special people at Hawthorne Woods that took such great care of our “Mr. Bill.” At the request of the deceased, all services will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Washington Area Humane Society. Additional information and guestbook are available at www.NealFuneralHome.com.
