Wilbur T. Ruetschi, 100, of Washington, died November 22, 2021, in Transitions Healthcare of Washington. He was born October 1, 1921, in Washington, the son of the late Joseph and Florence Rodabach Ruetschi. Wilbur was retired from Brockway Glass, Plant #7, where he worked in maintenance for many years. He loved the Steelers, was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping, and was very family oriented. He recently celebrated his 100th birthday with his family. On May 23, 1940, Wilbur married Virginia Romaine Strosnider, who died on September 15, 2013. He is survived by a son, Wilbur Douglas Ruetschi (JoAnn), of Claysville; daughters, Carol Basara (George), of Cokeburg, Betsy Murner (Bill), of South Franklin, and Sue Roup (Chuck), of Washington; grandchildren, Amy, Judy, Jill, Phillip, Sandy, Becky, Beth, Jenny, Carrie, and Chuck; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Wilbur was preceded in death by siblings, Geraldine Ponner, Gaylord Ruetschi, and Jean Tarr; and grandchild, Douglas Alexander. All services are private.
