Wayne Paul Clutter, 78, of Washington, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025. Wayne was born September 7, 1946, in Washington, a son of the late Clarence Clutter and Edna Devenney Clutter. He was a 1964 graduate of Washington High School. He was also a graduate of Penn Commercial and University of Pittsburgh, where he earned a bachelor's degree. He was employed at J.C. Penny’s while attending Penn Commercial. Wayne served in the U.S. Air Force in Guam during the Vietnam Era. He retired from Mellon Bank as a loan officer. Wayne enjoyed feeding the birds, squirrels, rabbits and other critters in his backyard. He could recognize over 12 varieties of birds that frequented his yard. He loved spoiling his neighbor’s puppies. Wayne and Betty lived in a wonderful neighborhood and had great neighbors. During retirement, he enjoyed traveling to many places including Alaska, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Branson, San Antonio, Orlando and he and Betty’s favorite, Myrtle Beach, where they enjoyed visiting numerous restaurants and seeing various shows. On January 13, 1996, he married Betty Ellen Baker, who survives. Also surviving are several cousins. Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a sister, Barbara Sutton. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2025, with the Rev. James W. Kimmel officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
