Walter H. Maze, 87, of Washington, died December 11, 2021, in Premier Washington Health Center. He was born July 15, 1934, in Washington, a son of Walter Maze and Martha Marchesi Maze. Mr. Maze graduated from Washington High School and was a veteran of the Army, serving from March 20, 1956, until his honorable discharge on March 17, 1959, as a sergeant. During his Army service, he served in Germany, was a Morse Code taker, and served in the ASA, the Army Security Agency. He retired from Star Mould, where he had worked as a machinist, then worked part-time for MHMR-Bridgeville and the Washington Business District. Mr. Maze was a member of the Washington Moose and a lifetime member of the Keystone Club. He was involved with Alpine league bowling and American Legion bowling league, and loved golfing with the Keystone Club group. When younger, he enjoyed playing catcher in a baseball league. Mr. Maze also enjoyed fishing as well as traveling with his wife and friends. On August 13, 1988, he married Mary Ann Danley, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Kelly Maze (Christopher Hanke), Kim (Jeff) Church, and Keely (Dennis) Sicher; five stepchildren, Delorian (the late Kevin) Selvaggi, Susan Falascino, Linda Falascino, Armando “Joseph” (Brenda) Falascino, and Mary Beth (the late Larry) Staub; three grandchildren, Julie (Brad) Todaro, Jason (Jackie) Church, and Spencer W. Church; two great-grandchildren, Gabby and Elle Todaro; four step-grandchildren, Eric (Leah) Falascino, Emily Falascino, Lorenzo Selvaggi and Taylor Staub; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are his first wife, Patty Provence Maze, and a sister, Maggie Pettit. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 2835 East Carson St., Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15203. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 11th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Private inurnment will be in Washington Cemetery.
