Virginia R. “Jennie” Aloia, 101, of Washington, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025, in Greenery Center for Rehab and Nursing, Canonsburg. She was born July 23, 1923, in Washington, a daughter of the late Albert Schwingel and Bertha Laurrell Schwingel. Jennie was a graduate of Immaculate Conception Church School. She retired from Ball Glass, after 35 years of employment. Jennie enjoyed crossword puzzles and going to church on Sunday. Most of all, she loved spending time with family. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Washington. On April 12, 1944, she married Anthony Aloia, who died July 17, 1996. Surviving are seven grandchildren, Eric H. (Lillian) Miller, Adam M. Miller, Andrew K. (Ashlee Hobgood) Miller, Cheryl L. (Jim) Oliver, Nicole R. (Nathan) Fry, Mark (Tonya) Aloia and Chris (Trish) Aloia, and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, who always referred to her as “Mum-Mum.” Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a son, Anthony Aloia Jr; a daughter, Rebecca Ann “Becky” Miller; and siblings Lawrence Schwingel, Joseph Schwingel, Elizabeth Ann Devenney and Isabell Hardy. Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of service, Wednesday, January 15, 2025, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Father Michael Peck officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
