Violet Iona Uphold

Violet Iona Uphold, 91, of Washington, died on September 19, 2023, in Country Meadows. She was born on December 15, 1931, in Carmichaels, a daughter of the late Homer and Alice Clark Reed. Mrs. Uphold had worked at Gee Bees for eighteen years. A job at Country Meadows followed until her retirement. Earlier in life she enjoyed all types of dancing, and especially the Polka. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, playing games and watching movies. On April 28, 2001, she married Darrell B. Uphold, who died on July 16, 2010. Surviving are a daughter, Candace (Craig) Uphold; a stepdaughter, Tina (Glenn) Garbart; a sister, Elaine (Bruce) Hines; two grandchildren, Ava Grace Dunhoff and Jack Curtis Dunhoff; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Deceased is a brother, Milo C. Reed. Friends and family are welcome on Monday, September 25, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Glades Cemetery in Carmichaels.
