Timothy Wayne Kirby, 69, of Washington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 3, 2024, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born November 28, 1954, in Greene County, a son of the late James F. Kirby, Sr. and Viola Eileen Kirby. Timothy served in the U.S. Army. He was a medic in the 44th Medical Brigade. Tim was awarded the National Defense Service Medal as well as the Expert Badge in both grenade and rifle. He was a self-employed carpenter for many years owning Kirby’s Freelance Carpentry. Tim also enjoyed selling motorcycles for his sister, Vicky, at Barnhart’s Honda-Suzuki in Ruff Creek. Timothy enjoyed restoring and riding BSA motorcycles. He enjoyed woodworking and was always in his garage tinkering with something. Most of what he owned was customized in some manner. On June 23, 1984, he married Lisa (Lutes) Kirby, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Angel (Wayne) Willard and Sonya (Shane McConnaughy) Kirby; five brothers, Dennis, Keith, Kevin, Todd and Troy Kirby; three grandchildren, Tyler (Haley) King, and Nickolas and Noah Willard; a great-grandchild, Karsen King; a lifelong friend, Gary Jacobs; and a cousin who was also one of his best friends, Dave Kirby. Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a brother, James F. Kirby, Jr.; a sister, Victoria (Kirby) Barnhart; and brother-in-law and lifelong friend, Gregory Paul Barnhart. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Greene County Veterans Memorial Park, 900 Rolling Meadows Road, Waynesburg, PA 15370. Full military honors will be accorded. Immediately following will be a wake at the Waynesburg American Legion. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Washington Area Humane Society.
