Timothy Joseph Bishop

Timothy Joseph Bishop, 73, formerly of Mariana, died March 7, 2023, in his Greenville, NC home. He was born April 13, 1949, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Merle E. and Mabel Jeanette Varnes Bishop. A graduate of Penn Cambria High School in Cresson, PA, he attended Penn State University Mr. Bishop proudly served his country with the Army during Vietnam, reaching the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, Soldier Protection System, M-14 Marksman Badge, and 2 Over Seas Bars. Retired from the Pennsylvania State Police, he served with Troop B, Washington Barracks for the majority of his career. (1972-1997) He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Pennsylvania State Troopers Association and American Legion. Timothy enjoyed watching sports, riding his Harley, hunting, fishing, and camping. He married Joyce Ann Macosko, who survives. They enjoyed 35 years of marriage. Also surviving are four daughters, Jennifer Kelley, Karen Broderick, Kelly (Jim) Tush, and Kristen Buszinski Deans; two sisters, Judy Boland (the late Jerry), and Deborah Bishop; grandchildren, Nick, Thom, John, Josh, Mason, Ethan, Hayden, Riordan, and Addyson; two nieces; great nieces and great nephews. Family and friends will gather Sunday, April 2, 2023, from 1-4 pm and 6-8 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial will be private in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
