Thomas Jefferson Taylor Jr., 77, of West Finley, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in Donnell House, Washington. He was born April 3, 1947, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Thomas Jefferson Taylor Sr. and Mary “Gladys” Thomas Taylor. Thomas attended Canon McMillan High School. He was employed by Koppers in Bridgeville, from where he retired. Thomas grew up in Skyview Terrace in Canonsburg, where he had a wonderful childhood and enjoyed every minute of it. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, making homemade wine with his Dad and attending Jamboree in the Hills. He was an avid Steelers fan. Most importantly, his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his everything and he cherished the moments spent with them. He was Scoutmaster for Prosperity Pack 1045 Boy Scouts from 1977 to 1978. On January 14, 1967, he married the love of his life, Rose Mary Littell Taylor, who survives. They celebrated 60 fabulous years together. Also surviving are two sons, Thomas Taylor III of West Finley and Robert (Kara) Taylor of Lebanon; two daughters, Raquel (Ed) Gent of McDonald and Melissa (Ed) Wasson of Waynesburg; two brothers, David (Jan) Taylor of Washington and Jay (Susan) Taylor of Washington; eight grandchildren, Edward (Krissy) Gent III, Brandy Taylor, Brooke (Gary) Gillispie, Hailley (Gregory) Katchmark, Hunter (Morgan) Wasson, Taylor Wasson, Lincoln Taylor and Rosalyn Taylor; seven great-grandchildren, Edward Gen IV, Olivia Taylor, Audrey Taylor, Sam Gent, Charlotte Taylor, Baylee Gillispie and Lyla Katchmark; a sister-in-law, Arlene (the late Don) Ringheisen of Florida; a brother-in-law, John Baker of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. Deceased are a sister, Jenny Backner (the late Larry); her mother-in-law, Frances Heckman; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Family and friends will be received from 12 to 3 p.m., the hour of service, Saturday, November 9, 2024, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Chaplain Phil Campbell of Concordia Hospice of Washington, officiating.
