Thomas H. McKuhn, a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, passed away May 12, 2024. The son of Emerson and Emaline McKuhn, Thomas grew up in Hickory, PA. He was born April 21,1936, in Mt. Pleasant, and attended Hickory High School. At the age of 21, Thomas enlisted in the U.S. Army. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Master Sergeant. As part of this dedicated 24-year service, he served in Korea and two tours in Vietnam, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, the Bronze Star, the Presidential Unit Citation, and Meritorious Award among many others. Thomas is survived by his wife, Laura; son Harold (Christa); daughter Cindy (Rick); grandchildren Felicia, Sheila, Johnny, and Sarah; and great-grandsons, Cole and Karter. He will be missed. He was very dedicated to his family and country. A graveside committal will be held at 1 p.m. Friday June 28, 2024, in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory. Guests are requested to meet at the cemetery. Military honors will be accorded graveside by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
