T. Eugene Weddle

Eugene Weddle, 101, of Washington, died March 11, 2022, in his home. He was born December 18, 1920, in Washington, the son of the late Jesse and Laura Morris Weddle. Eugene graduated from Trinity High School and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from Brockway, where he was an electrician. He was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school, was a deacon, and was one of the influencers to start the church. He was head of Merry Hearts group; they would visit nursing homes. Eugene was an avid golfer. On March 24, 1946, Eugene married Barbara Farris, they were happily married for nearly 76 years. Surviving in addition to his wife, is a daughter, Laura M. Johnson (Doug), of Weirton, WV; three grandchildren, Kelli Weddle Wick (Steve), Jeffrey Weddle (Cindy), Heather Hanson (Andrew); ten great-grandchildren, Chloe, Mallory, and Carter Wick, Belinda, Elizabeth, and Jacob Weddle, Meredith Moore (Sam), Autumn, Andrew, and Lillian Hanson; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death, was a son, Kenneth E. Weddle (Linda), and seven siblings, Addison Weddle, Roger Weddle, Ireta Baker, Elizabeth Hathaway, Mary Wells, Marguerite Adams, and Marjorie Anderson. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022, in the Washington Cemetery at 2 pm, with Pastor Fred McCloskey officiating. Those wishing to attend the service, should meet at the office of Washington Cemetery. There will be a memorial dinner on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 1 pm at Calvary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1701 Ridgewood Dr., Washington, PA 15301
