Sylvia K. Altieri, 91, of Meadow Lands, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025, in Canonsburg Hospital. She was born October 18, 1933, in Washington, the daughter of the late William Gorby and Kate Gallagher Gorby. Sylvia was a graduate of Trinity High School. She was employed by Chartiers-Houston School as a secretary for many years. Sylvia was a member of Miraculous Medal of St. Oscar Parish and a member of the Christian Mothers. She was a founding member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Chartiers Township Volunteer Fire Department She enjoyed reading and watching games shows and sporting events. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandkids and family. On May 3, 1958, she married Michael “Mickey” Altieri, who passed away April 6, 2012. Surviving are three children, Marie A. Kunselman (Donald) of Washington, Michael P. Altieri (Deborah) of Houston and Vincent C. Altieri of Meadow Lands; two grandchildren, Sara Meddings (Robb) and Matthew Altieri (Katy); two great-grandchildren, Micah Altieri and a newborn; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are her siblings, Francis and William Gorby, Loretta Henry, Margaret Lindsay and Juanita Sensky. Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 20256, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2025, in Miraculous Medal of St. Oscar Parish, 300 Pike Street, Meadow Lands, PA 15347, with Father Tom Gillespie as celebrant. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Miraculous Medal of St. Oscar Parish.
