Susanne Badura-Thompson

Susanne Badura-Thompson, 71, of Washington, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in her home.

She was born April 11, 1953, a daughter of the late Leon Badura and Irene Rolak Badura.

Susanne was a graduate of Lincoln High School and St. Francis School of Nursing.

She was an emergency room nurse at UPMC Children’s Hospital and retired from Canonsburg Hospital.

Susanne was a highly active member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church. She volunteered her time at Harmony House in the café.

She enjoyed playing dominoes with the church ladies and doing puzzles. She loved babysitting Leila and spending time with family.

On June 30, 1988, she married Irvin “Tom” Dale Thompson, who passed away January 19, 2015.

Surviving are two sons, Carl J. Thompson (Julie) of Washington and Thomas J. “TJ” Thompson (Christie) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Brian Thompson (Noella) and Sienna Thompson; four siblings, Patricia Gallagher (the late Seamus) of Dearborn, Michigan, July Burdett (Bill) of Deer Lakes; John Badura (Lori) of Butler, and Jerry Badura (Vicki) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews; and Leon Badura IV, whom was like her son.

Deceased are two siblings, Leon Badura II and David Badura.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2025, William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2025, with Pastor Brian Greenleaf officiating. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
