Sue Ann Pomykala, 79, of Washington, died June 14, 2023, in the Donnell House. She was born May 28, 1944, in Washington, the daughter of the late Arthur and Emma Stickle. A graduate of Trinity High School, she was Roman Catholic by faith. Sue spent 22 years volunteering at the Washington Hospital. She recently reigned as the “Most Valuable Volunteer- May 2023.” She was on the Board of Directors for Washington Hospital Women’s Auxiliary, a member of Christian Mothers and Ladies of Charity, and over the years has volunteered at the Brownson House and for the American Cancer Society. Sue loved spending time with her grandchildren, attending sporting events, cooking and baking, and family dinners. On September 28, 1963, Sue married John William Pomykala, who survives. Also surviving is a son, John (Beth) Pomykala; daughters, Kimberly Thompson, and Tracie (James) Kern; sisters, Janet (Carl) Pinkerton, and Kathy (Richard) Setto; grandchildren, Lindsay, Jordan, Hunter, Dylan, and Peyton; great-grandson, Cameron; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Sue in death was her brothers, Thomas Stickle and Harry Stickle, and her sister, Nancy Garner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brownson House, 1415 Jefferson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301 or Washington Hospital Women’s Auxiliary, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301. Family and friends will be received Monday, June 19, 2023, 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington; the place of service on Tuesday, June 20th at 10 am. Interment will be private.
