Shonda Lee Matthews Wilkinson

Shonda Lee Matthews Wilkinson, 65, of Washington, died on October 2, 2022, in Washington Hospital. She was born on March 12, 1957, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Thomas and Allegra Janet Dailey Matthews. Shonda was a graduate of Trinity High School. A very social person, Shonda enjoyed talking to friends and family for hours on the phone and babysitting her great nephews. She rescued seven cats, whom she loved very much. They brought her so much joy. On August 14, 1999, she married Samuel Wilkinson, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Samantha (Michael) Wilkinson, of Oakdale; three sisters, Letecia (Travis) Vankirk, of Washington, Joanne Longstreath, of Washington and Kimberly (Sam) Spino of Washington; several nephews and a niece, great nephews, and a great niece. Friends will be received on Sunday, October 9, 2022, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., October 10, 2022. Deceased are two brothers, Tom Matthews, Jr. and Jim Matthews.
