Shirley Jean Snyder, 79, of Washington, died Tuesday, March 27, 2018, in Premier Washington Health Center. She was born April 8, 1938, in Washington, a daughter of the late Steve and Gladys Rodgers Skariot. Ms. Snyder was a 1955 graduate of Trinity High School. Before retiring, she worked as the office manager of John Skariot State Farm Insurance Agency. Ms. Snyder attended TOPS, Inc. #360 in Houston and the Senior Citizens Center. She was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan and enjoyed puzzles. She loved and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and all of her family. While at the Health Center, her favorite pastime was playing cards with friends and family. Ms. Snyder was a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church. Surviving are four children, Jay (Sandy) Snyder of Houston, Brian Snyder of North Carolina, Cheryl (Ken) Gasparovich of Kennedy Township, and Alan Snyder of Washington; two brothers, Steve (Louie) Skariot and John (Margaret) Skariot, both of Washington; eight grandchildren, A.J. Snyder, Brittany (Jesse) Pesanka, Shane (Holly) Snyder, Katie Snyder, Cole Gasparovich, Alaina Gasparovich, Joshua Snyder, and Sierra Snyder; two great-grandchildren, Levi and Tristan Snyder; and one great-grandson on the way. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 30th, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
