Shirley Ann Barnhart, 86, of Washington, died on April 9, 2023, in her home. She was born on February 3, 1937, a daughter of the late John and Bessy Anderson Phillips. Shirley enjoyed crossword puzzles, adult coloring books, and shopping, especially at the Dollar Store. She loved taking care of her dog, Sadie. On August 17, 1962, she married the love of her life, Eugene Barnhart, who died on August 29, 1996. Surviving are a son, Eugene L. (Delima) Barnhart; six daughters, Shirley (Butch) Harps, Cathy Fonner, Rose Mary (Michael Robl, Dora (Junior) Leek, Bobbie Jo (Harry) Chambers, and Brenda Ringer; three sisters, Mary Lou Thomas, Sandy Elefritz, and Betty (Ray) Bell; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Deceased are a sister, Greta “Snookie” Taylor; a grandson, Johnathon Medlin; and a great grandson, Christopher Fonner. Friends will be received on Sunday, April 16, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA, where services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 17, 2023. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
