Shelva Jean Coulter, 86, of Washington, died on September 5, 2023, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care. She was born on March 21, 1937, in Washington, a daughter of the late Brick and Mildred Hewitt Spragg. Shelva was a 1955 graduate of Trinity High School. She had worked for the Pennsylvania State Police, and retired from Washington Crown Center, after working for eleven years in customer service. Ms. Coulter was a 4-H leader for ten years for Buffalo Ag, and was a member of Keystone Coon Hunters Club. Her greatest joy was her family. She was very involved with her grandchildren’s lives and loved spending time with her family. Surviving are three children, Craig (Christel) Coulter, of West Alexander, Chris Coulter, of Claysville, and Stacy Tamulinas, of Washington; three grandchildren, Alexis (Zach) Lowe, Chloe Tamulinas, and Carissa Coulter; a great granddaughter, Sutton Lowe; and a special cousin, Tim Hammett. Deceased are a son-in-law, William G. Tamulinas, Jr.; former husband, Robert M. Coulter; and a special aunt, Mary Hammett. Friends and family are welcome on Sunday, September 10, 2023, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where additional visitation will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service.
