Scott Charles Dille

Scott Charles Dille, 75, of Prosperity, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024, at his home. He was born October 17, 1949, in Prosperity, a son of the late Charles Dille and Estella Irey Dille. Scott was a 1967 graduate of Washington High School. In 1971, he earned a bachelor’s degree in education from California State College, and in 1975, he earned a master’s degree in education from West Virginia University. He was a middle school science teacher at Canon McMillan for 35 years, retiring in 2006. He also taught GED classes at the Washington County Correctional Facility and astrophysics at the Wheeling Challenger Center. Scott was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, St. James Parish, where he was a eucharistic minister. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council #1083. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved spending time with family and friends. He was a very giving and loving man, who enjoyed helping others. On August 5, 1978, he married Barbara Ann Marie Olesky Dille, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jason (Amy) Dille and Jeremy (Casie) Trabucco; a daughter, Monica Trabucco; four grandchildren, Holly (Cory) Perry, Eliska Trabucco, Hunter Dille and Henry Dille; three great-grandchildren, Cassian Perry, Max Perry and Madelyn Perry; and many friends and family. Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a brother, David Dille. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2024, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2024.
