Sandra Lee Kopko

Sandy Kopko (Williams), a longtime resident of Washington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Born on August 18, 1938 in Washington, she was the daughter of Nellie (Amon) and Fred Williams. She was 85 years old. Sandy was the loving and devoted mother of Julie Kopko (David Bischoff) and Dawna Kopko; adoring grandmother to Noah Hart and Katie Hart; sister of Charles Williams (Darla Saukel), and the late Margaret Goodwin, Norma Conrad, Betty Foflygen, John Neilson, and Walter Neilson; and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She spent her life caring for others as a friend, family member, nanny, and personal caregiver. Sandy’s most cherished role was being the nanny of the Walther family girls – Stephanie Saunders, Emily Rudman and Annie Walther. Sandy greatly enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, shopping and decorating her home, but her greatest love was spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. Relatives and friends will be received on Monday, October 9, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 10:00am. Interment will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
