Sandra “Sam” D. Brown, 68, of Washington, died April 28, 2021 in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 5, 1952, in Washington, the daughter of the late Clyde and Laura Zediker Yater, Sr. Sam attended Good Fellowship Church. She liked to go to the casino, and loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. On May 29, 1970, Sandra married Frank W. Brown, Sr., who survives. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary next month. Surviving in addition to her husband, is a son, Frank (Christine) W. Brown, Jr., of Washington; a daughter, Candida L. Brown; brothers Clyde (Valerie) Yater Jr., and Charlie Yater Sr., both of Washington; a sister, Betty (the late Bob) McClain, of Washington; grandchildren, Kain Brown, Raelee Brown, Bryan Byers Jr., Morgan Byers; supporting niece and nephew, Carol Scarberry (Donald Ray), and Shawn McClain, of Washington; several other nieces and nephews; and former son-in-law Bryan Byers, Sr. Sam was predeceased by brothers, Jackie Yater and Robert “Herm” Yater, and niece, Bobbie Crawford.
