Sandra Lee “Sandy” Morrison Hodgens passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024. She was born June 22, 1939, a daughter of the late William C. Morrison and Mildred B. Agnew Morrison. Sandy attended Trinity High School and graduated with the class of 1957. She worked at Jessop Steel Company for more than 36 years and retired from, now Allegheny Ludlum, in 1998. She was the first woman president of the Jessop Management Association. After retiring, she went to work at the Washington County Agricultural Fair and retired from there in December 2022. On June 25, 1960, she married Charles Richard “Dick” Hodgens, who survives. They had been married for 64 years. Together they had two children, Donna Hodgens (Jerry) Hadrych of Morgantown, W.Va., and David Hodgens of Avella, who survives. In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her two sisters, Betty Jean White and Beverly Mounts. Sandy was a lifetime member of Faith United Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach and Disney, and her favorite trip was to Alaska with her husband. Sandy was Past Matron of Lincoln Chapter 112, now Martha V. Paul Chapter 404, where she held many state and local appointments. Also surviving, in addition to her husband, children and son-in-law, are grandchildren Makenna Hadrych, Cole Hadrych and Levi (Jenna) Hodgens; great-grandchild Axton Hodgens; brother William C. Morrison; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends will be received Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 12 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m., and Monday, July 1, 2024, from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Entombment will be held in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith United Presbyterian Church or Washington County Agricultural Fair. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the medical intensive care unit nurses and staff at West Virginia University Hospital for their professionalism, courtesy, compassion and great care provided to their wife and mother.
