Ruth Huston Sanders, 84, passed away on the evening of July 1st, 2018, in the Washington Hospital, following a brief illness. Born on April 28, 1934, Ruth was a daughter of the late John and Priscilla Huston. She was a lifelong resident of the Washington community, and was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. A 1952 graduate of Bridgeport High School in Bridgeport, OH., Ruth married the late Paul Wade Sanders on September 26, 1955. Mrs. Sanders was a parishioner of the Washington New Hope Church of the Nazarene (formerly Hart Avenue Church of the Nazarene). She was a lifelong, devoted homemaker, and supporter of her grandchildren’s sporting events, who loved to travel, play cards with family and friends, and go camping with her grandchildren. She is survived by one brother, Paul J. Huston; two sons, John F. (Jennie) Sanders and Keith A. (Mary Ann) Sanders; six grandchildren, John P. (Whitney) Sanders, Jackie Sanders, Jennifer (Todd) Cutsuries, James W. (Laura) Sanders, Stacey (Reece) Ridenhour and Brian (Amanda) Sanders; seven great grandchildren, Brooke O’Donnell, Gwen Sanders, Lily Sheppard, Dalton Sanders, Bayley Ridenhour, Emma Sanders and Mason Sanders; and two great-great grandchildren, JJ Wright and Noah Gilpin. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wade Sanders, eight brothers and sisters, and one great grandchild, Alyssa Sanders. Friends will be received on Sunday, July 8, 2018, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, July 9, 2018, with Pastor George Garancosky officiating. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
