Rosa Lee Pinkney, 85 of Washington, died Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the Washington Hospital. She was born March 13, 1932 in Raleigh, NC, the daughter of the late Lewis Arnold Anderson and Mattie J. Dupree Anderson. Rosa was a graduate of Washington High School. She worked at Bobbie Brooks as a seamstress and later at Brockway Glass as a packer. She was a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church, Loyal Order of the Moose #22, the order of the Eastern Star, Keystone Club, Alpine Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Rosa was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing. On October 6, 1973, she married Franklin D. Pinkney Sr., who survives. They were married for 44 years. Also surviving are two sons, Robert (Hazel) Clifford of Washington, Franklin (Gail) Pinkney Jr. of Washington; a daughter, Rebecca (Steven) Alderman of Roanoke, VA; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Melissa, April, Robert, Cassandra, Austin and Bentley and seven great grandchildren. Friends will be received Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. the time of service at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington. Burial is private.
