Ronald H. “Ron” Paustenbach, 85, of Washington, died Saturday, January 4, 2020, in the Emergency Department of The Washington Hospital. He was born March 11, 1934, in Ford City, a son of the late Henry and Marie G. Young Paustenbach. Mr. Paustenbach graduated from Washington High School in 1952, and from Waynesburg College in 1958, with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. He worked as a draftsman for Henry F. Teichmann, Inc., retiring in 2001. Mr. Paustenbach was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. He enjoyed golfing when younger, bowling, hunting, fishing and swimming, was a member of the Elmurst Swim Club, and played dart ball for the Elks. He loved nature and was an award-winning artist for his paintings. Mr. Paustenbach volunteered at the Washington Hospital for many years. On July 23, 1960, he married Elizabeth H. “Betty” Kruczek, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Kerry E. Paustenbach of Pittsburgh; a sister, Maureen Connors; a niece, Gretchen Bartholomeu (John); and a great-nephew, Anthony Bartholomeu, all of Columbus, Ohio. Friends will be received from 5 till 8 p.m., Sunday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a Blessing service will be held Monday, January 13, 2020 at noon with Father George Chortos officiating. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
