Ronald “Ron” W. Eisert, 74, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017, after a nearly life long battle with kidney disease, and more recently MSA. Born November 3, 1942, in Buffalo, NY, to Janet Morris Eisert, of Washington, and the late William Eisert, he resided his entire life in Washington. Ron Graduated in 1961, from Immaculate Conception High School, and served briefly in the US Navy and was honorably discharged. He worked several years at S.A. Meyer Jewelry Store on Chestnut Street, graduated from Washington Institute of Technology and Penn Commercial. He was Employed for 29 years as a draftsman at McGraw Edison /Cooper until its closure. Ron later worked at Black Box. Until further health issues prohibited, he was involved in historical reenactments, both Revolutionary and Civil Wars. He can be seen dying twice in the movie Gettysburg, as a both a Union and a Confederate soldier. He was also an avocational archeologist for 30 years, and published numerous manuscripts on local site excavations conducted as a field associate of Carnegie Museum, Pittsburgh. Ron enjoyed fishing, canoeing, and researching his maternal pioneer ancestry, which he discovered dated back to the Mayflower. He was a member of the George Washington Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, American Legion Post 175, past member of the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology, and Washington County Historical Society. Ron spent many hours constructing the Washington Park Frontier Center along with its gardens. On October 8, 1966, he married Marian Spatafore in St. Hilary’s Church. He is survived by his wife, his children, Eric, of Washington, and Lynda(Edi) Roca, of West Orange, NJ; grandchildren Adem and Tyler Roca, and his dog Spencer. Also surviving are his mother Janet, 96, of Washington, 2 brothers: Thomas Eisert, of Pickerington, OH., David Eisert (Shirley), of Strasburg, VA., 2 sisters, Mary Francis Hann (Steve), and Tina Crino (Tony), and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are his daughter Angela, who died in infancy, his father Bill, his beloved dog Zoe, and a long line of ancestors he took the time to discover. He will be greatly missed by his entire family and will be celebrated as having ‘a life well lived.’ Friends will be received on Sunday, October 1, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 2, at 10:00 a.m in St. Hillary Church. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
