Roc Edward Dabney, 28, of Washington, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2024, in Allegheny General Hospital, as a result of a fiery car crash, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born May 26, 1995, in Washington, a son to Dana Dillie and the late James Dillie. Roc was employed by Perryman Company, where he called himself the Master Blaster, and during hunting season he would work for Shuba’s Processing. He was a 2013 graduate of Chartiers Houston High School. Roc was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, friend and dog dad. He had a heart of gold and would do anything that was asked of him and did it with pride; from helping his Pap with different projects or doing side jobs with his uncle Rod, to weightlifting and even competing in competitions. He loved horsing around with his brother any chance he got, and he definitely loved scaring people, especially his mom and Gram. He was committed to whatever was set before him. He was so fearless, and a lot of times would do things that most people wouldn’t, I guess you could say he loved a challenge. Roc loved hunting, playing arcade games, MTG, and RuneScape. He really loved shopping with his mom and aunt Janice. Even though Roc felt as though he struggled to fit in due to him having Asperger’s Syndrome, those of us who knew him saw him always fitting in. He was the life of every party; he loved dressing up in costumes and it didn’t have to be Halloween for him to do so. It’s easy to say Roc never met a stranger, he was kind and respectful to everyone. He was definitely one of a kind and will be so greatly missed by all who knew him and even some who didn’t quite know him. What I mean by that is, Roc left this world as a true hero, he was an organ donor and able to save and/or change the lives of several other people. Surviving are his mother, Dana Dillie; a brother, James Dillie(Reagan); a sister, Evelyn Findling (Jared); his gram, Bonnie Briggs; his pap, Darcie Briggs (Wilma); two of the best uncles, David Briggs and Rod Briggs (Patti); his girlfriend, Josy; his beloved dog, Kane; his biological father, Paul Dabney; his nan, Evelyn Ellis; his grandpap, Chuck Whipkey; his ma ma and pa pa Dabney; several aunts and uncles; and several cousins, nieces and nephews, and great and many special friends. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2024, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024, with Pastor Gary Lones officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery.
