Robert "Bob" G. Wise

April 18, 1948 — July 30, 2023

Robert G. "Bob" Wise, 75, of Washington, died on July 30, 2023, in his home. He was born on April 18, 1948, in Washington, a son of the late Barney M. and Ruth Alice Bopp Wise. Mr. Wise had attended Washington High School, and was a member of the Unite Church. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal, on December 6, 1972. Bob worked as the maintenance supervisor at a local apartment complex. He was a member of Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion. A faithful follower of Christ, Robert was a devout Christian, and God-loving man. He was a caring and kind-hearted man, who was always helping others. He enjoyed old muscle cars and collecting pipes, and used to love riding motorcycles. What gave Bob the most joy was spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored, and were his whole world. Surviving are his significant other, Sally McKahan, of Washington; two stepchildren, Bobbi Jo (Brian H.) Novak, of Washington, and Rob McKahan, of Washington; a brother, John (Patty) Wise, Sr., of Claysville; four cherished grandchildren, Brennan S. (Myah) Novak, Baylie Novak, Robby McKahan, and Ethan McKahan; as well as several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a stepdaughter, Rona; and four siblings, Joe Wise, Thelma Allum, Dorothy Milligan, and Charles Wise. Friends and family are welcome on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, from 3 to 6 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington.
