Robert Paul Vivian, Jr.

Robert “Robbie” “Bob” Paul Vivian, Jr., 76, of Washington, died Thursday, December 21, 2023, in The Washington Hospital. He was born September 20, 1947, in Summerville, Massachusetts, a son of the late Robert Vivian and Rose DeDominicis Vivian (who served as a supervising teacher with the Perkins School for the Blind in Massachusetts). Mr. Vivian graduated from Monson Academy in Western Massachusetts and Washington and Jefferson College. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He worked in social services and in contract office furniture/lighting sales for over 30 years. Mr. Vivian was the project manager and designer of Patriots Pavilion in Washington. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Bandits golf group and the Lone Pine Country Club. He was also very accomplished in ornamental gardening design as well as an avid gardener. Mr. Vivian worked tirelessly on the design and support of his garden, where he spent most of his days with his beloved wife. And, at the end of the day, they would retire for a happy hour in the pool. On December 22, 1976, he married the love of his life, Linda Iannone, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Renee Dinardo, whom he nicknamed Bunny Rabbit; two grandchildren whom he adored with all his heart, Sydney Dinardo and Reese Dinardo; his “Buzzin Cousin”, Norma, and many other cousins in Massachusetts; many friends and family in Washington, as well as those who were like family from the fond years spending his winters in Florida. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 27th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a Blessing Service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 28th, with Father Michael Peck officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Perkins School of the Blind (support.perkins.org).
